Hello! Welcome back to episode thirty-one of our monthly podcast about games and game audio. This month, we have a chat about showreels, and how to best approach showreels as a sound designer in the games industry. We go over some basic info and talk a bit about our experience making reels over the years. We also talk about Avengers: Endgame, Shazam!, Death Stranding, Raising Kratos, Divinity: Original Sin II, Austin Wintory's GDC 2019 talk The 'Banner Saga' Franchise: Making Indie Sound AAA and many more fun things.
This month, we're really excited to be sponsored by our friends at Pro Sound Effects! They have sent us over a copy of 'Bass Machine', a new library from their Sonomar Collection. We have a chat about the library in the episode, and we've also made a couple of videos for you to hear more of the library, here and here. You can also get a fantastic $50 off the library, when using the code 'SOUNDBYTES' at the checkout! Thanks PSE!

Hello! Welcome back to episode twenty-eight of our monthly podcast about games and game audio. This month, Barney sat down with his two friends and colleagues, Josh Bell and Francesco Del Pia, to discuss life at Cloud Imperium Games, making sounds for spaceships and spacesuits, and generally working with a big team on a big project. We also talked about finding work in the games industry as a sound designer, how to deal with moving to a new city and a new country to join a company, and how to get past the impostor syndrome that comes with starting a career in sound. A huge thanks to Josh and Fran for taking the time to chat, we had a great discussion and we hope it is helpful information, especially for newcomers to the industry.

Hello! Welcome back to episode twenty-seven of our monthly podcast about games and game audio. We're already a month deep into 2019, and so far the year has brought us snow, and the much awaited first demo for Anthem. We discuss said demo in this episode, as well as the Haunting of Hill House, Altered Carbon, and Derek's latest build project, based on the Nob Control. We also decided to tackle the topic of - things we wish we knew when we were getting into the industry - 5 things that we each felt is useful information for the up-and-coming game sound designer.

Hello! Welcome back to episode twenty-five of our monthly podcast about games and game audio. This month, we were honoured to be joined by the fantastic Isabella Ness, a sound designer working for Clean Cuts & Cerebral Lounge out of Washington D.C. We chatted to Isabella about her background and education, her beginnings in the sound design world, some of her previous work (including the recent Spyro Reignited Trilogy) and a bit about her workflow, setup and choices of equipment. We had a lot of fun recording this episode, and we were very inspired by chatting with Isabella - we hope you enjoy the conversation!

Hello! Welcome back to episode twenty-three of our monthly podcast about games and game audio. We're very excited to bring you this month's episode with the kind help of our friends at Krotos Audio. Krotos us provided with some copies of their wonderful plugins, to check out and share with you in the episode. Barney had a look at Reformer Pro, and Derek had a play with Dehumaniser 2. We also talked about Derek's recent move to working with Reaper, and answer a listener question.
A big thanks to Krotos for supporting us - we've been aware of this company for a while, and it was great to explore some of their unqiue and groundbreaking plugins and share that on the podcast. You can read more about how people use their plugins on their blog, as well as browsing their full range of plugins on their product page.
